October 2025 - Pension Re-enrolment

October 2025 - Pension Re-enrolment

The Pension Regulator requires employers to re-enrol all eligible employees into a qualifying workplace pension scheme every 3 years.  This excludes those that have opted out within the last 12 months.

A pension contribution will be deducted from October pay on Friday 24th October.  Employees that do not wish to remain in the pension scheme have the option to opt out.  If you are re- enrolled into the NHS Pension scheme and wish to opt out, the relevant form can be found on the NHSBSA website - Member hub | NHSBSA and must be completed sent via a Help Desk ticket to the payroll team employeehelpdesk.esneft.nhs.uk/portal/en-gb/home by the 2nd November 2025 to generate a local refund.  Opt out forms cannot be backdated and must be dated no earlier than 2nd October 2025.

If you are re-enrolled into the NEST scheme and wish to opt out you will need to advise the payroll team via a Help Desk ticket employeehelpdesk.esneft.nhs.uk/portal/en-gb/home no later than the 2nd November, a local refund will then be processed.
